The Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted on Wednesday that the support of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is increasing, while Congress is losing ground. Congress loses ground in Haryana as the elections for Haryana’s assembly are getting closer.
“As the day of voting nears, the Congress is losing hope. The support for BJP is increasing day by day in Haryana,” PM Modi addressed a large crowd of people in Sonipat.
Modi has accused the Congress of transferring Haryana in the hands of “dalals” (middlemen) and “damads” (sons-in-law), in a subtle allusion to that of the Gandhi family. Although Modi did not specifically mention the names of anyone, his reference was apparent to many in the audience, who broke out with cheers.
“Wherever the Congress has put its foot, corruption and ‘ bhai-bhatijawaad‘ (nepotism) are inevitable. Congress has given birth to corruption in the government system. The Congress party is the mother of corruption in our country,” the prime minister stated.
