Police have filed an First Information Report (FIR) against unidentified persons for allegedly sharing “objectionable” videos featuring Mahatma Gandhi and Premier Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath, on social media.
The controversy was discovered following the sharing of the X user Neha Singh Rathore claims to be an activist, nationalist and a speaker posted this video last Tuesday. Rathore has criticized the videos and challenged the motivation behind their making.
“The popular and successful chief minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath Ji Maharaj has made many efforts for the honour, security, and empowerment of women in his state. How can some cheap street reelers use Yogi Ji for a few views?” Rathore wrote.
“Not only this, how the videos of Prime Minister and Mahatma Gandhi are being edited and uploaded for cheap popularity,” she said.

The videos shown in question depict Mahatma Gandhi and Modi Adityanath, Modi and Mahatma Gandhi Adityanath in dancing, and also singing Bhojpuri songs.
The post also criticized Rathore’s post also criticized Ballia police, and urged for swift action: “When will action be taken against this cheap street reeler?” she demanded.
Rathore posted a screen-recording on Instagram reels of X where Mahatma Gandhi as well as the Prime Vice-President Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath can be seen dancing and singing along to an Bhojpuri song.
